About Us

MS Whanganui is a local, community-focused organisation here to support people living with Multiple Sclerosis, as well as their families, whānau and carers.

A registered charity since 2008, we are powered by a wonderful team of volunteers who share a genuine commitment to supporting and improving the wellbeing of people affected by MS across Whanganui and the surrounding region.

Our Board is made up of seven volunteers who meet each month to guide the Society, plan ahead and keep connected with the needs of our MS community. An important part of our team is our Community Advisor, who works directly with people in our region. Their insight helps us understand what our community needs and where we can make the greatest difference.

We’re a friendly bunch and there’s always room for more! We warmly welcome new volunteers and would love to hear from anyone interested in contributing their skills and experience to our Board.

Want to get involved or simply find out more? Pop in and see us at the office, or get in touch through our contact form.

MEET OUR COMMUNITY ADVISOR

Meet, Sharon, our Community Advisor. Sharon has been in the role for more than 5 years and finds it extremely rewarding. She enjoys seeing the small things she can do to make a difference in the lives of those with living or supporting someone with MS.

Sharon originally hails from Taihape and is a country girl at heart. When she isn’t on the road visiting clients, or preparing the quarterly newsletter, you can find Sharon at home, having a quiet cuppa with her cat and dogs nearby.
